INFORMATION ABOUT THE RETIREMENT DIVISION

Information and Communication are two of our main objectives of the Retirement Division, since our members are no longer linked to information at their work site. As a result, we will continue to produce timely information in our newspaper, and to announce all meeting times and dates for our active and retired members.

Legislation is also a high priority as each year we introduce a legislative agenda that includes bills of interest to our members. We support various other bills which affect not only state and municipal retirees but current workers, all retirees and the elderly.

Representation is very important. We represent our members at every meeting of the State of Connecticut Retirement Board, as our President, Ron McLellan, is a Board member. We also intervene for members who are having a difficult time with "the System", encountering disability, medical and workers’ compensation problems, just to name a few.

Savings for retired members include discounts for hotels, auto rentals and Walt Disney’s Magic Kingdom. Also, members have access to a Union Mastercard program that features a competitive annual percentage rate with no annual fee and discounts on legal services which includes a free thirty minute consultation and many other benefits.

If you would like more information about, the CEUI Retirees' Division, please call George Spurlock at the Union at (860) 343-8722 or 1-800-622-3359 x722.
